Parents are the most important influence in the lives of children. Discipline, respect, social values, manners, and healthy habits should be taught at home and reinforced at school. The South Douglas staff will do their best to provide a challenging educational program in a safe, clean and positive learning environment. We believe teachers have a right and responsibility to teach. We believe students have a right and responsibility to learn. We want children to enjoy being at school. We also want them to know that learning is the primary reason for coming to school.
Communication between home and school is encouraged. The school newsletter, the Bear Facts, is the vehicle through which most school news is communicated. The school website is also a valuable tool for communication. We encourage all parents and community members to take an active role in supporting South Douglas Elementary.
