The Douglas County School System is committed to meaningful and ongoing engagement with all the citizens and organizations that make up the Douglas County community. “The health of the school system is vitally important to a community,” said Superintendent Trent North. “As the new superintendent, I want to hear the concerns of our citizens as well as what our parents expect and desire for the education of their children.”

DCSS Listens is a series of town hall-style meetings that will be held in both the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018 in school buildings identified to represent each of the five Board of Education districts. The purpose of the DCSS Listens sessions is to provide an open forum for families and community members to offer ideas and suggestions directly to members of the DCSS System Leadership team. Meetings will be facilitated by the district’s new Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement and different district leaders will attend the various meetings.

The five meetings will be held at the following times and locations. Directions to the exact meeting place in the schools will be posted at the front door of each school.
