Subjects Taught

I graduated from The State University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.  I also received  my master's degree in early childhood education from the State University of West Georgia as well.

I have been teaching for twenty-six years.  I began teaching at Eastside Elementary where I taught Kindergarten for three years and first grade for two years.  I came to South Douglas in 1995 where I taught second grade for five years. I received the honor of being teacher of the year in 1996.  I feel so blessed to be at South Douglas.  This is my seventeenth year back in kindergarten.  Kindergarten is such an amazing grade to teach.  You see children make so much growth in a year!

I am a native of Douglasville.  I went to Winston Elementary, Chapel Hill Middle School and graduated from Douglas County High School.  I am married. We have an  eleven year old son who is in sixth  grade  at Fairplay  and an eight  year old daughter who is in third grade here at South Douglas.

My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. I also enjoy watching birds enjoying our bird feeders.  My favorite birds to watch are the hummingbirds!  We have three cats who are spoiled rotten!  I also enjoy playing  tennis.
